PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

We had a great week of learning and student engagement on campus! This past Wednesday, we launched our first FLEX time, and we are so proud of how smoothly students transitioned into this routine. FLEX is a 30-minute block built into our Wednesday schedule where teachers work with small groups of students to strengthen skills tied to specific learning targets. This practice will continue throughout the year to provide both support and enrichment where it鈥檚 needed most.

Thank you for partnering with us in your child鈥檚 education. We hope you have a wonderful weekend, and we鈥檒l see everyone bright and early on Monday!

Hope Squad Coming to Rayburn

We are excited to announce that Rayburn has been chosen as one of only two schools to pilot the Hope Squad program! With the support of our administration, this program will help us strengthen school connectedness and support student well-being.

What is Hope Squad?
Hope Squad is an evidence-based program dedicated to spreading hope and creating a school culture of caring and connection. Members of the Hope Squad are students who are nominated by their peers because of their kindness, approachability, and trustworthiness. These students receive training to support classmates and connect them with trusted adults when needed-helping prevent mental health crises and encouraging a safe, supportive environment.

Parent Involvement
If your child is nominated to serve on the Hope Squad, you will be invited to a parent meeting to learn more about the program. Parent consent is required before any student can participate.
We are proud to bring this opportunity to Rayburn and look forward to the positive impact Hope Squad will make on our campus!

Upcoming Guidance Lessons
This week our counselors will be visiting 6th an7th graders during science and 8th graders during MAPS, AVID, or Innovative Thinkers classes to provide guidance lessons focused on building important interpersonal skills. Topics covered will be as follows:

6th Grade: Communication Skills
7th Grade: Personal Boundaries
8th Grade: Personal Boundaries

In addition, during these lessons, students will have the opportunity to nominate peers for our Hope Squad program.

GT Supports Rayburn Clubs & Electives!

Every year, the 7th grade GT students make posters to support and promote the Rayburn clubs and electives as an introduction to their role in their community. The kids worked hard and were excited to deliver them to their teachers/sponsors. This is just a small way to say thank you and show our support!
